Preparation for Birth - Couples Yoga Workshop in Finsbury Park
This workshop will give you and a partner confidence as you prepare for birth. You will learn and practice labour and birth positions as well as massage and relaxation techniques that will prepare you for a natural birth but also inform you about other birth options should they arise. It will reduce any anxiety and fear that you might have, making you more comfortable with the unpredictability of birth. The workshop session will build on what is offered in pregnancy yoga so that you are able to take yourself into a deep state of relaxation at any time you need to, through the art of breathing and supported by your partner. Attending pregnancy yoga sessions helpful but not necessary and partners don’t need any experience of yoga.

Course Tutor - Rhian Davies De Souza
Rhian has been practising yoga for 20 years and teaching for 10 years. Inspired by her own use of pregnancy yoga while she was pregnant with her daughter she has been teaching pregnancy yoga for over 2 years. She prepared extensively for the birth of her child and attributes this research as well as practising pregnancy yoga to her quick labour and successful home birth. Rhian believes that a positive birth experience is best facilitated when mother and partner are educated well about birth and feel empowered in their labour and birth journey.
